Mursala Waterfalls - Central Tapanuli

  Overview


Mursala Waterfall is one of the waterfalls in Indonesia, waterfall water fall directly into the sea. This waterfall is located in Mursala Island, which lies between Sumatra and Nias Island.
 
The height of the waterfall is more or less about 35 m above sea level on the flowing reddish granite rocks on the island cliffs and immediately fell into the Indian Ocean. from island to cliffs
Another uniqueness of the island is a tourist attraction Mursala waterfall with a height of approximately 35 m which fell off a cliff into the sea islands.  Legend

There is a story about people who thrive in this Mursala Falls. It is said that this waterfall is a place to play a beautiful princess named Princess Runduk. According to the story is the Runduk Princess consort of King Jayadana Barus who ruled the kingdom of Kingdom City, a Muslim kingdom in northern Sumatra in the 7th century AD and has a beautiful face so famous through out the kingdom.

Due to the country that has been ravaged attacked by King Sanjaya of Mataram, which is then captured by King Janggi of Sudan, this princess fled to the island Mursala for refusing to marry by King Sanjaya, where her husband was killed in the attack. It is also claimed that the princess threw herself into the sea while being chased by King Janggi, then disappear.



 Accessibility

Distance of about 1 hour away by fast boat docks in the coastal district of Pandan, Sibolga or 3 hours using ordinary ships. Rents boat to get there around 1.3 million Rupiah.

Meanwhile, to achieve Sibolga it self is Therea commercial flight from Medan city. The travel time from Kuala Namu Airport - FL Tobing Airport Pinangsori Sibolga is approximately 45 minutes.



 Facilities and accommodation


On the island there is no inn Mursala, who lived here there were only about 60 families. And besides its beauty, perhaps because of the relatively pristine unspoiled appeal that is the Hollywood director to make Mursala Island as the location filming.

To go Mursala island, you can rent a boat dock in the coastal district of Pandan, Sibolga with rents about 1.3 million rupiah. The travel time takes about 2 hours.
